I have the privilege of managing the Fynbos Node of the South African Environmental Observation Network. I am particularly interested in understanding how different drivers of change such as invasive alien species, fire and climate change impact of biodiversity and ecosystems. Their is also great opportunities to engage with society and economic development through restoration to improve resilience in these ecosystems. These fields draw on the need for integrated approaches and data to address issues in complex social and ecological systems. Since joining SAEON, I aim to expand the long term research platforms to include a broader spectrum of ecological. climatic an social data to better address global challenges and its impacts on society. I am keen to collaborate with anyone interested in furthering research research and developing its platforms in the Fynbos Biome.
